About this guide

This is an independent guide to Cameron Highlands in Malaysia. It’s for anyone planning a trip up the hill: picking a base in Tanah Rata, Brinchang or Ringlet, getting there from KL, deciding between tea plantations, strawberry farms and markets, or fitting it all into a day trip or a few nights.

Each page tries to answer the questions you’d ask before you go, using facts you can trace back to where they came from.

Nobody owns or funds it

No tour operator, hotel or resort, booking agent or government body owns this guide or pays for it. It sells nothing and takes no bookings. When you book something, you book it with someone else.

Who runs it

The guide is run by Adam Yong, founder of YS Feet. He is based in Kuala Lumpur, has a computer science background and has spent over 20 years in software engineering and digital growth. His work today is in search: SEO and search data. He has travelled with his family, with young children, since 2013, and YS Feet began as their family trip journal.

For this guide, he chooses which places to cover based on what people actually search for, runs the system that stores every fact with its source, and reviews every page before it goes live and again after launch.

Adam Yong has been to Cameron Highlands many times with his family, most recently in September 2023.

Even so, the facts in this guide come from named sources, not from his trips.

How the site pays its way

Some pages link to tours on Viator, Klook and GetYourGuide. These booking sites run affiliate programmes, so the site may earn a commission when you book a tour through them. You pay the same price either way.

Commission plays no part in what goes on a page. No tour, place to stay or place to eat is added, moved up or dropped because of what it pays. No business can pay to appear here or to sit higher on a list.

What this guide never claims

• Trip stories, apart from Adam Yong’s own dated notes, printed word for word as he approved them
• Reviews written by the site
• Ratings it made up: any rating you see comes from the booking site or Google Maps, with the date it was read
• Paid placements
