What Tokyo Town is

Tokyo Town @ Cameron is a Japanese-themed street market in Brinchang, the town just up the road from Tanah Rata. The local guide cameron.com.my calls it the highlands’ first Japanese-themed lifestyle street market4.

Brinchang is the highest of the three towns5 on the plateau, so evenings here run cool. That matters, because Tokyo Town keeps late hours.

Opening hours and entry fee

Google Maps lists Tokyo Town as open Mon–Sun 10:00–22:003 (checked October 2026), with no closed day shown. That’s a map listing rather than an official timetable, so check it before a late visit.

Both guides in the table list entry as free, but cameron.com.my’s own Tokyo Town page says an admission fee likely applies2. Carry a little cash in case.

How to get to Tokyo Town from Tanah Rata

Tokyo Town is in Brinchang, and you don’t need a car: the tourist bus from Tanah Rata covers the short run. The Cameron Highlands Golf Course6 sits between the two towns.

  1. Get up to Tanah Rata

The highlands can only be reached by road. Buses from KL's Terminal Bersepadu Selatan to Tanah Rata take about 4½ hours.

  2. Ride the tourist bus to Brinchang

The tourist bus from Tanah Rata stops in Brinchang, which is 2 to 4 km on, depending on the source.

  3. Get off near Tokyo Town

Ask the driver to drop you along the main road. The address is Jalan Sultan Abu Bakar, Brinchang.

Coming up from the lowlands first? See every route up to the highlands from KL. For beds and food at the start of the bus line, use the Tanah Rata page; for the rest of the town around the market, see everything else in Brinchang.

Nearby: Kea Farm and the sheep sanctuary

The easiest pairing is Kea Farm, a little further along the same bus line. Kea Farm’s open-air market is 2 km north of Brinchang, and the tourist bus stops at Kea Farm6 after Brinchang.
