What a night costs

The ladder shows rates per tent, lot or whole site per night, so you can see where glamping sits next to plain camping lots. The top Mooncrest rate is RM1,800 at weekends for up to 16 people2, so it’s a group price.

  • Parit Falls Campsite · Campsite pitches, Tanah Rata RM100–500
  • Zakka Campsite · Camping lots, own tent RM100–200
  • The Bayu Golden Hills · Classic lot, own tent from RM100
  • Zakka Campsite · Glamping tents, Ringlet RM298–718
  • The Bayu Golden Hills · Mooncrest glamping, weekday to weekend RM330–1,800
  • Hola Campsite · Whole site, Tanah Rata RM500–600

Per tent, lot or whole site per night, from the operators, Escabee and TheCamp. Weekend and season rates can be higher than weekday rates.

What counts as glamping here

In the highlands, glamping means sleeping in something already set up for you, usually on a campsite that also rents bare lots. Here’s what’s on offer:

  • Caravans and domes: Stellar GoldenHill calls itself Malaysia’s first caravan glamping company3.
  • Family-size tents: Zakka Campsite’s run from a 2-person tent up to a 7-person Air Tent1.
  • Fenced units: Escabee describes Mooncrest Glamping as a cosy retreat inside bamboo fencing for privacy2.
  • Japanese-themed tents: Zen by Stellar was due to open in August 20244 and has fewer than 20 rooms5.

Some sites in the table also rent lots where you pitch your own tent. The Bayu Golden Hills’ Classic Lot is bring your own tent2. For that kind of trip, see tent camping in Cameron Highlands.

Where can you go glamping with a private toilet?

For your own bathroom, look at Stellar GoldenHill’s caravans or Zen by Stellar’s villas. Some tents and cottages elsewhere share facilities, so check which unit you’re booking.

  • Stellar GoldenHill: a TheSmartLocal report from 20226 says each caravan has its own private bathroom.
  • Zen by Stellar: the villas have an en-suite bathroom, an outdoor bathtub and private parking, but the Kaku and Nami cottages share communal bathrooms and toilets5.
  • The Backyard Glamping Cameron Highlands: at Kampung Taman Sedia, Tanah Rata, with Budget Twin, Standard Family and Family Deluxe tents7. A guest review on Escabee says the standard tent had a shared bathroom7.
  • A tent with a jacuzzi in Brinchang: there’s a listed Safari Tent with Private Jacuzzi, with a hot tub8.

Ringlet, Golden Hills or Tanah Rata: where to base yourself

Choose Tanah Rata if you want the town on your doorstep, Golden Hills and Brinchang for the farms, or Ringlet if you’re coming up from Tapah.

Who glamping here suits, and who it doesn’t

Glamping here is mostly sold to families and couples. Zakka Campsite aims its camping at families, couples and solo travellers1, and Stellar GoldenHill welcomes children of all ages9.

It also suits you if you like cold nights. Cameron Highlands sits at about 1,500 m in Pahang11, and Zakka markets itself to people who love cold-weather camping1.

It may not suit you if you:

  • sleep lightly: Options warns that Zen by Stellar’s units are still tents, with little soundproofing5.
  • might change your plans: Zakka bookings are non-refundable once confirmed12, and Escabee says The Backyard Glamping allows no cancellations7.
  • want to cook or eat in your unit: Stellar GoldenHill doesn’t allow cooking or eating inside the units13.
  • travel with a dog or want a beer: The Backyard Glamping bans alcohol, pork, pets and cooking inside the tents7.

If you’d rather have solid walls, compare apartments for families in Cameron Highlands or a homestay in Taman Sedia.

Ways to book smarter:

  • Book early in high season: BOH Tea advises booking accommodation in advance for the high season15.
  • Stay longer at Zakka: its booking site advertises a discount on the second night16.

Mossy Forest and Big Red Strawberry Farm from your tent

The outings people plan most are both on the Brinchang side, near the Golden Hills sites.

  • Mossy Forest: a boardwalk runs through the Mossy Forest at the top of Gunung Brinchang11. Entry is RM30 for non-Malaysian adults and RM10 for Malaysians17 (checked October 2026).
  • Big Red Strawberry Farm: one of the largest agro-tourism farms in Malaysia, and within walking distance of Brinchang town11. It opens 8:30AM–6PM on weekdays and 9AM–6PM at weekends11.

If the authorities close the Mossy Forest for maintenance, Discover Camerons says it replaces that stop with a 1.5-hour hike18. There’s more in the Mossy Forest boardwalk fees and access guide.
